Sporty and sophisticated

These aren’t the kind of kicks you’re generally used to, but I'm kind of into all the athletic details and sporty-sophisticated undertones. Alexander Mcqueen Puma Elevate Wedges, $248, available at http://www.oaknyc.com/women/shop-by-style/shoes/mcqueen-puma-elevate.html

Fair new Vietnamese restaurant, in Gardena, Pho Consomme. Very clean and modern interior with fast and friendly service. My husband & I tried Pho and Spring rolls. I wasn't care too much for their Pho broth, but Spring rolls were good.

Turn inside out

Adopt a new perspective. Play with shape and form and re-evaluate your design attitude. Margiela’s shoes are turned inside out, leaving the lining leather on the outside and the upper just showing underneath.

Matsui does spicy right!

Their handrolls are to-die for. When they say "spicy" tuna, they mean "spicy" tuna!

This is how I do burgers

Wrapping up perfect beautiful Saturday. I did home-made burger. I think the key to make yummy burger is getting fresh meat from local butcher shop instead of getting discounted, sale packaged meat from supermarkets. I went to the Super Hayat halal market for freshly ground meat. http://www.yelp.com/biz/super-hayat-market-torrance
Prepare, cook it up on hot fire and... eat! :)

I love Shabu Shabu...

I do, I really do. Again at the Mizu 212 at Sawtelle.

Egg omlettes for breakfast

I chopped up whatever veggies I have, added some rice while eggs are all cooked up. Served with spicy salsa. Yum!!!

Ground Chicken Lasagna

I get “No Boil” organic lasagna noodles from the WholeFoods market.
In a large skillet, cook and stir ground chicken, chopped onions and spinach over medium heat until golden brown. Drain excess grease. Mix in chicken broth, and evaporated skim milk. Cook mixture until it comes to a low boil.
To assemble, in a oiled 13x9 inch casserole dish layer 1/2 cup of the sauce, 3 lasagna noodles, 1/2 cup of sauce, ricotta cheese, one half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, 3 noodles, remaining sauce mixture. Finish with remaining shredded mozzarella cheese.
In a preheated 350 degree F(175 degree C) oven bake for 45 to 60 minutes. Cook until heated through and bubbly. Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

Korean Ox tail soup

Place ox tail (4 pounds beef oxtail) and trimmed fat in a large cooking pot with 8 cups water (or water/broth) over high heat and bring to a boil, skimming off oil and foam as needed.
Reduce heat to medium and add salt, garlic and ginger (add onion now if used).
Simmer for 3 to 4 hours, skimming as needed (until meat is almost falling from bone and broth is a milky color). (If used, add sliced Daikon about ten minutes before end of cooking.)
Remove the soup from heat.
Remove ox tail from broth with a slotted spoon and place into serving bowls.
Using a hand held strainer, remove onion and garlic solids from soup and discard. (if used, add noodle to serving bowls.)
Garnish and Serve.
Chop the green/spring onions (if used, thinly slice the garlic cloves from top to bottom).
Ladle soup into serving bowls, add garnish, and season with sea salt/pepper to taste.

Walking boots–Marc Jacobs

The walking boot is a key shape for the coming season. Runway styles varied between the more traditional and practical flat styles to the heeled derivatives, but with everyone from Marc Jacobs to Topshop backing the trend, its commercial uptake is inevitable.

Home made Fried Dumplings

1/2 pound napa cabbage, shredded and then finely chopped and squeezed between paper towels to remove excess moisture
3/4 pound ground beef
2 green onions, including tender green tops, minced.
3 fresh shiitake mushrooms, stems discarded and caps minced
1/3 bunch fresh chives, minced
1 teaspoon peeled and grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon mirin
1 teaspoon soy sauce
About 50 round Asian dumpling wrappers, each about 3 inches in diameter (thinner is better)
1 tablespoon grape seed oil and 1 tablespoon sesame oil for cooking each batch
2 tablespoons water for cooking each batch

Military boots–Moschino Cheap And Chic

What's going to be hot for this Fall? Military boots. The military boot is also set to be a key item for women this winter. Of point is the fact that these boots are heeled with only a suggestion of a military touch rather than practical army boots. Khaki, black and navy are the key colours, while leather and canvas are the principal materials.

Seafood paellas under candle light dinner

Seafood paellas should be made with a variety of fish and shellfish, each adding its own flavor and texture. Always include jumbo shrimp, mussels or clams, and a firm white fish such as monkfish, halibut, or sea bass. Seafood paellas are often served with a cold, fresh, dry fino sherry; however, a zesty, dry California Sauvignon Blanc works well, too.

Soft structures

The mood for spring/summer 2010 is all about softness and romance after several seasons dominated by hard-edged 80s looks. This sentiment follows through to footwear with softly structured textile uppers that are wrapped, ruched or draped around the foot. http://www.givenchy.com/

Cutouts your shoes. That's new!

A low-key but notable trend here sees cutout panels play peek-a-boo with skin. This is a key look for boots but can also be seen as part of our earlier Formal lace-ups trend - pieced facings cutaway from the vamp. Preen's new runway series are simply eye catching. http://www.preen.eu/

She did it again!

Vivienne Westwood. GENIUS!!! The bootie provides a soft derivative with drappy uppers, while key details are drawcord ankles and wide toplines that pull away from the leg.

Ground Beef Kabob Skewers

It's ground beef skewers made over fire and served with fire roasted tomatoes and basmati saffron rice.

In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients (1 lb Ground Beef (can also be made with ground lamb or ground chicken if desired), 1 Large egg, 2 Large Yellow Onions, grated 2 Garlic cloves, crushed with garlic press 1 tspn, Turmeric
Salt and Pepper to taste)
and mix well.  Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least 2 hours.
Take about a handful of the meat mixture and roll it up like a meatball in one hand.
In the other hand, take the long and thick skewers and begin to press the meat onto the skewers.  This is how they get their shape.  Be sure to press the top and bottom of the meat up closely to the skewer, this isn't hard since the meat mixture is like a paste.
Using charcoal grill provides best results but BBQ will work as well.  Place skewers over heat and cook about 10 minutes on each side or until desired.
Serve with rice or bread and eat right away when hot!

Talking about heels!

ACNE, Platform pumps. Seriously, I rest my case. This is inventive as it can be..., but still beautiful and classic.
